Environmental Management System
Committed to environmental sustainability, Palliser Furniture is continually reviewing alternatives to improve operating efficiencies, minimize environmental impacts and enhance production. Palliser Furniture’s Environmental Management System facilitates the implementation of these ongoing initiatives:
- Investing in the best available low impact manufacturing technologies once they are proven effective and practical
- Substituting new low impact materials for materials currently used once they are proven effective and practical
- Building long-term relationships with suppliers who obtain or manufacture materials in an environmentally sensitive way
Environmental Stewardship Plan
As part of our ongoing Environmental Assessment, we have identified key target areas of focus: establishing efficiency gains that reduce waste generation, reduce wastewater discharges and reduce emissions to the environment. Our environmental consultants assist our Systems Re-Engineering Team to implement strategies that achieve these goals. This is supported by our Environment Stewardship Plan, which outlines strategies to:
- Maintain and use our Environmental Management System
- Enhance pollution-prevention initiatives
- Improve waste minimization and other ways of minimizing environmental impact
- Promote internal and external recycling
- Satisfy regulatory requirements
- Promote workplace safety and health
- Conduct green procurement initiatives
